WEST CHESTER AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION

|
The West Chester Amateur Radio Association assists in the development, maintenance,
and operation of the Voice of America facility in cooperation with West Chester
Township. WCARA also works with the Gray Wireless Museum giving technical and
operational assistance as appropriate, including club members who serve as docents
for museum and VOA facility tours. The WCARA operates and maintains the club amateur
radio station WC8VOA at Voice of America Bethany, renewing a short-wave radio
presence, which began there in 1944. WCARA cooperates with local emergency groups
to provide assistance in times of disaster. The club promotes amateur radio as a
national resource by means of radio licensing classes, public service projects,
amateur radio activities such as Field Day, and various operating competitions which
develop and foster member communications skills. WCARA meetings are held at the
Voice of America the second Monday of each month at 7pm. Their Website may be
found at www.wc8voa.org
